Albania and Macedonia: the pearls of Europe

The southern European countries of Albania and North Macedonia are becoming increasingly popular for a car vacation, and we understand why! Beautiful and Untouched Albania

Upon arrival at Tirana Airport, you can pick up your rental car at the airport or at a downtown location and you can immediately start your tour through Albania. Beautiful sandy beaches and bays stretch along the coast, while the inland landscape is rugged and unspoiled. Scattered throughout the country are several authentic villages and Roman ruins, such as the Albanian Alps. In Tirana, the capital of Albania, you can stroll along the boulevard and Albania's second city, Dürres, is a beautiful port city on the Adriatic Sea. And don't forget that the historic inner cities of Gjirokastër and Berat are on the UNESCO World Heritage List, in addition to the previously mentioned Greco-Roman excavations at Butrint. Be sure to make time for a visit to one of the fourteen impressive nature reserves and admire the Blue Eye, an immense spring with crystal clear, blue water.

Picturesque North Macedonia

From Albania you can easily travel to North Macedonia, via the beautiful Lake Ohrid that marks the border. Steeped in history, folklore and natural beauty, North Macedonia also has a lot to offer outdoor enthusiasts. Hiking, swimming and cycling are excellent in the mountains and at the lakes of Ohrid, Prespa and Dojran. The capital of North Macedonia, Skopje, is worth a visit! In addition, North Macedonia has delicious wines, so you can even stay at several wine farms. Our tip? An overnight stay in Demir Kapija, a town with the oldest winery in the Balkans.
